Due to popular demand – MagiKats now in Gateshead!
Ever since the opening of the first MagiKats Maths and English Tuition Centre in the North East, demand for the programme’s unique blend of helping with school work and the underpinning of core skills has been strong and continued to grow. With centres already in Durham, Chester-le-Street and Sunderland’s Ryhope, MagiKats is now proud to announce its latest opening in Low Fell, Gateshead.
Responding to demand
Lorraine Stephens, owner of the first local MagiKats centres in Durham and Chester-le-Street said, “I have always known that there was demand for MagiKats in more locations in the North East, but I have never been able to find the time to open MagiKats in other locations. However, MagiKats HQ has always looked for excellent people to open other centres locally and I am really happy that Joe is joining our small but expanding network with his new centre in Gateshead.”
Joseph Hodson is the latest addition to the ever-expanding MagiKats franchise network, which sees local people open MagiKats Tuition Centres in their area, offering Maths and English support to children from pre-school right up to GCSE. When asked why he wanted to open a MagiKats Tuition Centre, Joe commented, “MagiKats is a family owned and run business which helps it to avoid feeling like a corporate machine and as a potential franchisee, I felt reassured that I would be treated like a human being and not a cog in a machine!
“I have experience and knowledge in teaching and specifically teaching maths. As a teacher, dealing with parents and pupils is part of the job which I look forward to taking into the business. I will also, no doubt, be calling upon my numeracy skills for my own business purposes!”
The MagiKats appeal
When asked what appealed to him most about the MagiKats programme, Joseph was clear. “MagiKats has flexible and adaptable programmes for students who work in small groups with a mentor. They therefore have constant access to their mentor, unlike some other tutoring centres, whilst avoiding the ‘brain drain’ that often happens when kids are faced with a private tutor.
Knowing how hard it can be to establish a new business, Joseph is planning to stay sane by continuing with his exercise. “I enjoy running and am a member of Washington RC. As a dad with two daughters under 6, my wife and I are also active with local parenting groups. If you see us around you had better watch out – we plan on telling everyone we see about MagiKats!”
