Dedicated Teacher Opens New MagiKats Hereford Centre
Working with young people in further education and working with people with visual impairments requires dedication and tenacity. New franchisee, Debra Thomas, brings 25 years working in education to the business, and has experienced first-hand how young people “often needed support with their basic Maths and English skills, either to improve problem areas, or to extend their knowledge beyond what is available at school.”
MagiKats is a Great Fit
Debbie desperately searched in Hereford for a Tuition Centre to help pupils she knew. It was crucial the centre addressed individual needs in Maths and English, yet operated in a secure environment. Delighted to discover MagiKats, her elation soon turned to bitter disappointment. MagiKats wasn’t available in Herefordshire!
Undeterred, Debbie brought her ‘can-do’ attitude into play, researching further into the MagiKats business model. She discovered she was a near-perfect candidate to become a MagiKats Principal. Her unique skills in education and special education, acquired over many years, put her in a strong position to launch her own centre. “MagiKats Hereford?” she wondered. “Why not?”
Making Changes Improving Lives
In the words of one of the most famous blind students, Helen Keller, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” Bringing MagiKats to Hereford would help the many students she knew gain confidence with National Curriculum materials. Should she take the plunge?
What made real sense to Debbie was MagiKats’ “unique workshops”. “The problem-solving, thinking and study skills taught in a multi-sensory environment match the gaps I can see in provision in my local area,” explained Debbie. As a dedicated foster mum knew she had good motivation skills and wanted children to learn “in a fun way”. She could open a new door in her own life, build upon those fantastic education skills, and continue her life-long love of helping children achieve in school (and at home).
The Benefits of Working with the MagiKats Family
At MagiKats we are thrilled to have Debbie with us as a new franchisee. In her own words, she is confident about delivering the MagiKats programme, where “students learn many skills as well as the subject they are studying. Their problem solving, thinking and study skills are all improved by this two strand approach. The MagiKats system also ensures that each child is treated as an individual and their particular needs will be met by the programme.”
We couldn’t have said it any better.
Please get in touch with MagiKats Hereford if you are in the local area and need Maths and English tuition for your child.
